Case Study
Currently carrying out an extensive house renovation in the heart of Leigh on Sea in Essex, our client was looking for a premium water treatment system to protect his house from the damaging and irreversible effects of hard water.
Our aim was to install a water softener system that would provide limescale free water to the newly installed bathrooms. In addition to the visible aspects of soft water, it needed to be capable of delivering uninterrupted high flow rates, supplying soft water to multiple showers being used at the same time.
The Installation - Space wasn't too much of an issue with the heart of the plumbing and heating system to be located within the garage but we were also mindful to leave enough room to accommodate the hot water storage cylinders for the air source heat pump. If you are also wondering 'Can I install a water softener system with an air source heat pump?' Of course you can!

Despite a new incoming main water supply pipe being bought into the property to aid with flow, the actual incoming water pressure was a mere 2.2 bar so we wanted to be sure the water softener system would not cause any further restriction. My proposed system with this is mind was the Hague 7180 Maximizer water softener. Perfect for the larger home, the 7180 Maximizer is a great option with one inch inlet/outlet connections and a patented distribution screen to help a fast flow of water through the ultra fine mesh ion exchange resin. It's built in the USA and is compact in size compared to other manufacturers models of similar specification.

Here is our installation of the Hague Water Softener 7180 using 28mm pipework and fittings. Full flow valves with an adequately sized discharge/waste pipe system. Unsoftened hard water feeds supply the outside garden tap at the back of the property and the utility cold tap. Pipes were later lagged with matching Armacell insulation. Although here at All Salts we aren't always the cheapest, WE WILL only ensure that our sourced materials are the best available.
Our client is now experiencing the benefits of soft water with a system that is super efficient to run, using only around 3-4 bags of salt per year. We are back later next month to install their Quooker boiling water tap system which will also be protected from limescale damage.
Here at All Salts Ltd, we are authorised Hague Water System agents and are able to supply and/or install including servicing and repairs. You can check out our latest projects at www.instagram.com/allsaltsplumbing or get in touch with us on 01702 840100
